We all say “I just want to paint” but handling the business end of your artistic pursuits can be just as critical as the creative and artistic pursuits.

Unison Colour welcomes Jeff Fioravanti as an Associate Artist
It speaks to me, calls to me, that is the first impulse I get when I am compelled and commanded to create a new piece. I have no control, I must paint it, put those impulses into strokes of color; it is an insatiable desire to try to capture the fleeting moments of life and the world around us. Its voice makes me think of not just the present, how I am seeing the light hitting a leaf on a tree or the reflection of said tree in a pond. The sound of curling water around a rock in a stream that flows on a soft summer day or how war is waged between the shore and an angry sea. It is the sun crawling across the landscape, kissing the top of the long grass, or the chill of winter with its own unique colors that melt and give way to the thoughts of impending spring. It is not just the here and now I hear when the land, skies, sea speak to me, but I hear the whispers of those who walked these same fields, woods and shores before me, the call of birds, hum of insects, the wind in the trees, heat of a day; it is all these things and then some that I look to leave in those magical colors I have layered into paper and canvas for those who will walk these places long after I am gone.
My art is a product of all these, it is who I am, what I have been taught by family, friends and life’s experiences. Each piece I create, every stroke of color is a roadmap to my soul and each stroke of color contains in some way all the people I have met, the places I have been during the years I have walked this earth.
Jeff is a Signature Artist of the Connecticut Pastel Society, Central Massachusetts Pastel Society, Pastel Society of Maine, Pastel Society of New Hampshire, Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod and the Pastel Society of America. He is also an International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS) Master Circle member and an artist member of the Degas Pastel Society, North Shore Art Association (Gloucester, MA, USA) and Newburyport Art Association (Newburyport, MA, USA) Jeff has won awards both locally and nationally, including a past Best of Show at the Renaissance in Pastel Exhibit hosted by the Connecticut Pastel Society. His work has appeared in Pastel Journal, American Artist, Best of Pastel (Kennedy Publications) and Pastel International as well as National Geographic: The Civil War A Traveler’s Guide, as well as several book covers.
Jeff is a lifelong resident of eastern Massachusetts and is a member of the Saugus High School Athletic Hall of Fame for Ice Hockey and Soccer. Seeking gallery representation.

The dictionary defines a journey as an act of traveling from one place to another. This would seem to imply a start and an endpoint. For me, as an artist, there really is no ending to my travels.
Announcing New Associate Artists!
In May we held a recruitment exercise for new Associate Artists and we were overwhelmed with the number of applications. So much so we will have 2 groups of new artists. Our 2nd group will be announced in August 2020.
