Description
Emma is based in Belfast, Northern Ireland and works as a portrait artist alongside illustration work and her series of wildlife and landscapes. Emma’s favourite subjects to paint are animals and she enjoys painting many pet portraits as well as series of British and Irish wildlife. Using a combination of Unison pastels and velour paper Emma says there is no other medium quite like pastel for building up the effect of fur.
This comprehensive set covers every tone you will need to create many different types of animal portraits. Row 1 includes the all-important light range vital for painting white animals, but also useful for highlights on every colour of the animal. Avoiding white as your main highlight will add more depth and realism to your paintings. Row 2 gives you a full range of cool shadow tones also useful for the highlights on dark or black animals. Row 3 provides a range of vibrant warm tones useful for highlights on brown animals, right through to a selection of fleshy pinks vital for inner ears, noses, and wet tongues! Rows 4 and 5 include an extensive selection of warm and cool browns from light to dark which will cover the vast array of brown shades we see in every animal from dogs to horses and even wildlife. This set is neatly comprised of Emma’s favourite shades for animal painting and whether you use the colours directly as they are, or layer them up together, you will easily find any animal’s palette in this selection.
