Introduction
I love to use pastels to capture the beauty of horses, and I chose this particular horse as a model for our tutorial for many reasons – its beautiful colour, the fine bone structure, and that soft eye.
I wanted to create a portrait that captured some life and movement, and I am going to take you on a journey to show you how to do that!
We will be using mostly Unison Colour soft pastels, as they are the perfect subtle colours that we need, but also some Conte Sketching Crayons, and pastel pencils for extra detail.
See the materials list for the colours that I used.
NB; I take the labels off my pastels and break them in half, so that I can use the side to create painterly marks as well as finer marks with the end.
