I had been delighted to have been asked to demonstrate & promote my very favourite pastels UNISON (what else!) I have been using these since I first discovered them in the Skipton Art Shop in approx 1988, my goodness showing my age now.
All of us as artists have busy lives! As it goes, some of the things we are obliged to have nothing to do with art! For me, as an artist and committed pastelist, I still, on a daily basis, strive to find that everyday time to paint, regardless of how little time I have.
Our first plein air day here at La Grande Maslerie, Roullours, Normandy, France. It was a wonderful morning with glorious sunshine so we headed to a nearby pond with water lilies au Monet!
On a recent trip to New York City I was fortunate enough to be invited to the Private View of “Scale: Possibilities of Perspective” at the Children’s Museum of the Arts; where one of my favourite pastellists, Zaria Forman is exhibiting two of her beautiful paintings.

Unison Colour pastels are very buildable. Try mixing colours by applying one on top of the other then use a blending stick to the mix (also called a tortillon).
Things sure have changed since I began my career in fine art nearly 30 years ago, the internet was an obscure not quite fully formed idea and social media referred to the posters up around town telling of the dance on Friday night.
