What you will learn
In this masterclass it’s going to be great to work alongside you and teach you how to create this iconic landscape scene. Using a select range of Unison Colour 16 half sticks, during the Masterclass you’ll learn how to layer colour, create expressive marks, build depth in your painting and so much more!
You’ll also discover just how effective Unison Colour pastels are to work with to both ‘paint’ and ‘draw’ with during the masterclass using them in lots of exciting ways balancing detail and expression at just the right moment to create visual interest in the painting.
Together we will use individual colours, intermixed and ‘scumbled’, to express textures and light again and again. Unison Colour Fixative will be used in creative ways to build those all important darks and to create wonderful contrasting areas to those glowing golden cornfields!

I welcomed the 5 day challenge and the following workshop because it was a step up from the usual beginners/improvers normal offerings. I am an experienced pastellist and living in North Yorkshire familiar with the work of Robert Dutton. So, I knew what I was in for, exciting and challenging.
On the whole it went well and although I did not start until a day later, I managed to finish fairly promptly.
I had most of the colours or very similar ones as I have an extensive collection of Unisons.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and I am very satisfied with the result. I normally do animals and portraits, but I shall now consider doing landscapes.
My only gripe is that, on my iPad, the videos were very small and I had to be guided by Roberts voice rather than see what his fingers were doing.
