Description
Emma is based in Belfast, Northern Ireland and works as a portrait artist alongside illustration work and her series of wildlife and landscapes. Emma’s favourite subjects are animals and she enjoys painting pet portraits as well as series of British and Irish wildlife. Using a combination of Unison pastels and velour paper, Emma says there is no other medium quite like pastel for building up the effect of fur.
This compact set will enable you to paint many types of animals with a relatively small palette. Row 1 has an important selection of light shades, vital for highlights and reflected colours in white animals. Row 2 provides cool shadow tones and useful blues for painting the highlights on darker coats. Rows 3 and 4 give you a range of warm tones from light to dark including some of my most commonly used brown shades. With this small set, you should have a good combination of colours to use directly or layer together to create many coat types.
