La Grande Maslerie: Perfect your Pastels, Day 1

Our first plein air day here at La Grande Maslerie, Roullours, Normandy, France. It was a wonderful morning with glorious sunshine so we headed to a nearby pond with water lilies au Monet! It was the most beautiful spot with painting worthy vistas at every turn!

Most of the students chose to paint the pond but Sylvia decided to choose the fields opposite the pond instead. After two hours of hard work we stopped for lunch then went back to paint a bit more in the afternoon.  Sylvia, Sara and Adela decided to stay close to the stunning chateau and paint in the shade of the beautiful pergola in the back garden.

All in all a wonderful day’s work with Unison pastels featuring heavily in each painting
